The PACEY Award provides three annual awards of €5000 each for youth projects relating to international peace, nuclear abolition and/or climate protection. The winners are decided and the awards given at the annual Intergenerational Forum on Climate, Peace and Nuclear Abolition which Basel Peace Office organises as part of the Basel Peace Forum.
Nominations for the 2027 Peace, nuclear Abolition and Climate Engaged Youth (PACEY) Award will open in September 2026.
Do you know of a youth project that addresses peace, nuclear disarmament and/or climate issues, and that could be boosted by a prestigious award with €5000 in prize money to help it succeed? If so, we encourage you to nominate it for the 2027 PACEY Award.
Nominations are easy. And if you are young and involved in such a project, you can nominate it yourself. Nominations open in September. The deadline for nominations is December 31, 2026.
The PACEY Award Jury includes representatives from the co-sponsoring organizations – Basel Peace Office, Basel City (President’s Department) and the Basel Evangelical Reformed Church – plus representatives from Youth Fusion and Youth Present.
Nine finalists (three for each category) will be selected by the jury from the nominated projects. The finalists will present their projects/proposals at the PACEY Awards Ceremony which takes place online on Friday January 22, 2027. Participants at the PACEY Awards event will then vote to determine the three winners. The award event will also include short reports of the exciting projects of some of the previous PACEY Award winners.
The PACEY Award Ceremony is held in conjunction with the annual Basel Peace Forum and the annual Intergenerational Dialogue on Peace, Climate and Nuclear Disarmament.
